Image Analysis

 

       The image I chose to analyze is one that I pretty much found looking through Google. Out of all the images I saw though, it just so happened to appear to have more of a meaning behind it then the others that I noticed. When you look at the image, it kind of speaks for itself. I know there are people who maintain there beliefs on this image and everything that it stands for, but it is just a picture so please stay calm.

      This image was created by someone who supports gay rights and all those who are within the LGBT community. I am not sure if whether the author themselves is gay considering the they are unknown to me. The two blue symbols with the plus sign and equal sign to the heart represent two males coming together to proclaim there love for each other. That does not mean brotherly love but intimate love. The blue and pink symbol with the plus sign and equal sign to the heart stands for the obvious male and female falling in love with each other. This is the typical scenario with any love story. Then there is the two pink symbols which stand for two females being in an intimate relationship with each other despite the ideas of society.

       The words in all caps " LOVE KNOWS NO LIMITS" wraps up the meaning of this image in a nutshell. It clearly means that love has no boundaries even though society does. There are people who are against equal rights within the gay community either due to religious purposes or they just seem to find it plain disgusting. This image is advocating for a cause that people spend so much of their time protesting against. The words being in all caps and bolded has some significance to me. It is to emphasize everything the image stands for and speak for all those who advocates for gay marriage.

       The word "love" is in red because of course when you think of love you think of the color red. It is in red also state the motivation behind all the protesting for gay marriage. These people just want to be given the opportunity to freely display their love for each. They just so happened to be attracted to and fall in love with the same sex. Everyone hopes that one day in life they will be able to fall in love and experience happiness.

      I am not advocating or protesting for or against gay marriage. To be completely honest, I do not hold an opinion on the matter. You should do what you please and whatever makes you happy. This image is more than just a pretty picture with hearts and the color pink. It is like an advertisement for the gay community and the supporters as well. This image is like a banner supporting a cause that people are fighting for everyday.
