Image Analysis

The image I have chosen to analyze is on a lighter note that I found on tumblr. The author of this image is unknown, but I would go out on a limb and say that everything in this picture holds some value to the person. At the top, we can notice two gold guns. Perhaps this represents this person’s want for security or for power. It could also mean that this person is a supporter of gun rights if this picture was made anytime recently and they’re trying to say that people should be allowed to have guns if they so wish. Also, two gold guns does look pretty cool.

                Beneath the guns are the words “but”. I honestly don’t know why, but beneath the words is a picture of Miley Cyrus. I don’t think that this person might have a particular feeling towards Miley Cyrus, but maybe just girls. Although people might not like her, you have to admit that she is pretty. I think this appeals to the creator’s sense of sexuality in that he/she does in fact like girls, but not just any girls. Miley Cyrus also has on purple clothes which I think was put into this picture purposefully to go with the whole purple theme of things.

                In between the Cyrus clones are two large stacks of money. Now although it would be impossible to determine the exact amount of money, we can tell that the front two bills are 100 dollar bills. So it would be safe to assume that the rest of these bills, for the sake of the photo, are also 100 dollar bills. This appeals to the creator’s sense of want or needing more money. Everybody wants more money and in this picture, they are able to have it.

                Now in the middle, we see the most important image. The stereotypical idea of Jesus is in the center holding a cup of lean, in an ocean or lake of lean. Jesus might play a large part in this person’s life and they felt he should be the center of this picture because he is the most important thing in this image. Lean is a mixture of codeine, sprite, and jolly ranchers if available. Jesus is clearly holding a very large double cup of this concoction maybe to represent that being a Christian or worshipping Jesus doesn’t have to be so serious all the time and one can have fun or enjoy themselves at the same time.

                This collage appears to me to be a compilation of things that everyone feels like they should need. The guns for security against any outside force that may be trying to hurt you. The words for language I suppose. Someone to care for and in their case, Miley Cyrus. Money in order to provide for one self in their time of need and Jesus to represent the religion that people follow and base their lives off of. Last, but not least, the lean, to represent the fun that should be had during your living on this earth, although it doesn’t have to be double cupped or that big.
