Image analysis

Newa is a well known graffiti artist who's work can be found across the united states via both walls, bridges and trains. Heavily influenced by renowned graffiti writer KAWS and NACE, Newa goes beyond typical graffiti writing and, like early Kaws pieces, targets billboards. Targeting billboards, Newa often attempts to voice his thoughts and feelings regarding basically anything which he feels necessary to talk about.
In the piece above,  Newa takes aim at sugary cereal brand, Trix. By leaving the original trix illustration of the rabbit and cereal, but changing the text, it is almost as if he is attempting to make argue that the words he has pasted over the advertisement are what the company is actually implying. the piece's audience is a wide one, basically anybody passing the billboard would notice that something is slightly off, taking note of the text on the billboard. by having such a wide audience, and making this piece extremely accessible, Newa is ensuring that his thoughts and feelings will be seen by many.
It seems to me that Newa's intention in enscribing the phrase "shovel this down your lil' bastard's throat" is implying that oftentimes sugary snacks and unhealthy foods are seen as escapes or even a "cop out" for parents of children clambering and badgering for the unhealthy foods which they are often bombarded with advertising for.
