GTA V Reviews

Grand Theft Auto V is the fifth installment in the GTA series created by Rockstar Studios. Being one of the most anticipated games of all time, one could understand how all of the critics and gamers were just waiting to get their hands on a copy and just play until their hands fell off. After making record breaking sales, the reviews started rolling in with so many being great. Xboxachievements gave the game a perfect 100, but I do not feel like this game deserves a flawless score. This game is great, no doubt, but there are so many little things that make it a bit monotonous at times and a game that can grow tiresome. With SO many different things to do in the world of Los Santos, some of it just seems useless if not just filler. Who wants to walk a dog in a video game? This is the stuff that just seems pointless. The map is huge and this isn’t the problem, but the different buildings, missions, and collectibles are so far apart that you are actually spending several minutes travelling to and fro. The major complaints that are heard about this game are the police and the multiplayer, which are both integral parts of a Grand Theft Auto game. In GTA, you can kill, rob, hijack, explode things, break street laws etc. and to rectify your wrong doings, a police force comes after you. However, these police are on some Robo Cop stuff and will not stop until you are either dead or in custody. This is part of the fun, but when one gets into the higher levels of the law (4 and 5 stars) the police become brutal to the point it’s not even fun anymore. They come by the dozens and don’t seem to miss, aiming for you or the tires of the automobile you might find yourself in. In the multiplayer, the police presence is a little more reminiscent of GTA IV, but the multiplayer is completely different. Having come out almost a month after the games release and with glitch, broken, and hard to operate servers, the multiplayer wasn’t looking so hot. After a couple patches, all of the major problems were resolved, but there were still several that needed to be remedied. There were several glitches still in the multiplayer that might make your car flip out or perhaps you would end up under the city falling into nothingness. You can only do so much over and over again before things start to get boring and GTA V takes advantage of this fact and exploits everything into the ground until you want nothing to do with it anymore ever again. Because of these reasons, I disagree with the flawless score it received on this review and many other sites as well.
